What is Applied Kinesiology (AK)?
Applied Kinesiology (AK) is a chiropractic technique that assesses structural, chemical, and mental aspects of health through manual muscle testing combined with other standard diagnostic methods. AK is a non-invasive body function assessment system that is unique in the healing arts and offers personalized care. Muscle testing is a neurological test and not a test of strength or weakness.
Its name is the combination of 2 terms: "applied" and "Kinesiology" that describe the basis of this method. focused on the use of certain manual muscle tests to evaluate body functions, through the dynamism of the musculoskeletal system.
Applied Kinesiology treatments may include specific joint manipulation or mobilization, various myofascial therapies, cranial techniques, acupuncture and meridian skills, clinical nutrition, dietetics, counseling skills, assessment of environmental irritants, and various reflex procedures.
